TSL082 Introductory Literature
The other subject that we need to learn in for the first semester in Literature. Learning this subject with Madam Ain was great, as she is a friendly as a person and have a huge perspective. That's maybe why she teach us Literature.
For this subject, we have a few assignments and assessments that need to be done before the semester is over. We also learned a few poems, short stories and a novel.
Notes and Lectures
For Literature subject, we will have lectures on Monday and Tuesday every week. In Literature classes, we learned short stories like Mariah, Looking For Rain God and Examination Day. We also learned the novel Animal Farm.
Other than that, we also learned a lot of literary devices, especially the ones used in poetry, for example assonance, imagery and many more
Assessments and Assignments
For this subject, there are a few assessments that need to be done. One of them is Literature Exhibition (LitEx). Because of the COVID-19 Pandemic, we need to create a website for LitEx instead of having a real Exhibition. This is a group work, and I am in a group with Aisyah, Anis, Izzan and Nadzifa. We chose the theme gender and sexuality, find some poems related to the theme and elaborate them. We also recorded a presentation video for LitEx. Click the button below to visit our LitEx website!
The second assessment that need to be done is the Midterm Test. For this assessment, we were asked to answer 3 questions about 3 short stories, which were Mariah, Looking For A Rain God and Examination Day. The questions were quite tricky, but I managed to answer them, but my marks is nit that good. I hope that I will get higher marks for the Final Examination
The third assessment that we need to do is the Novel Presentation. We need to present this in a group, and I was in a group with dib, Aisyah and Eszfahan. We chose to present about characters in Animal Farm, and I presented about Squealer and Mr. Pilkington. Our group did quite well for this presentation.
Conclusion
To conclude, there are a lot of new things that I learned by learning literature. I got to know about literary devices deeper, and it also help me to easily identify literary devices in poetry and literature works. For the coming Final Examination, Literature is the first subject and I hope I can answer the questions and get good marks. To Madam Ain, thank you for teaching us Literature, and also for helping us to understand more about it. It is sad as we couldn't meet face to face and lastly, thankyou for everything Madam Ain!
